It depends. As the major organ of the body, the liver is involved with many aspects of human metabolism. Thus Liver failure affects many systems. You must determine if the liver failure has affected the patient in such a way that you cannot safely treat the patient in an office setting. Some of the things that may be affected include Oxygenation, Immunology, Coagulation, and Detoxification.
